Pei Sheet Over Glass

I ve run glass the craptastic preforated sheet that shipped with my printer painter s tape kapton tape and pei and vastly prefer the latter out of all of them.

As the interface between the printer and the printed object the print surface sees the most abuse of any part on your 3d printer and will likely need to be replaced at some point during the life of the printer. Smooth pei plates may have a non uniform appearance under the pei as that is the adhesive visible through the pei sheet this is normal. The pei film is adhered to the glass bedplate with a semi permanent adhesive in order to maximize the lifetime of the pei print surface. I ve wiped down the pei with a lens wipe so it should be clean. Polyetherimide or pei material is an amorphous thermoplastic with high mechanical strength and rigidity. Everything i ve used just sticks to pei with no glue or hair spray or anything else required.

It just sort of peels right off and printing circles and arcs is impossible as the extruded plastic just doesn t stick to the bed.
